Bazelak starts at quarterback in Bowling Green's opener at Liberty

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Bowling Green State University’s Connor Bazelak started as the Falcons’ quarterback in Saturday’s season opener at Liberty.

Bazelak, who transferred from Indiana earlier this year after playing for Missouri the previous three campaigns, was battling for the starting quarterback spot with Camden Orth. The two 6-foot-3, 225-pound seniors, who each have two years of eligibility remaining, are the only quarterbacks with experience playing in college on BGSU’s roster.

In 34 career games (29 starts), Bazelak has thrown for 7,370 yards, 36 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions while completing 62 percent of his passes. Bazelak was the 2020 Southeastern Conference co-freshman of the year.
